A bit about us:

We are working with a growing engineering firm who is searching for a Civil Land Engineer. This position will develop conceptual and detailed design plans using Civil 3D that ensure functionality and performance for the client’s project requirements aimed at assuring project quality and accuracy of construction deliverables. Position must have sufficient ability to interact, build rapport and communicate clearly with clients, municipalities and fellow employees. This position requires sufficient proficiency, knowledge and understanding of all job responsibilities while completing multiple tasks on time.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and lead land development projects including residential, commercial, and industrial site development.
2. Review potential land development sites and perform feasibility studies, including site visits.
3. Prepare and present detailed reports on the feasibility, environmental impact, cost, and timelines of projects.
4. Design infrastructure components for projects, including grading, storm water management, sanitary sewer, and water distribution systems.
5. Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project goals are met.
6. Apply for and secure necessary permits and licenses for projects.
7. Conduct soil testing to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations.
8. Test building materials, such as concrete, asphalt, or steel, for use in particular projects.
9. Provide cost estimates for materials, equipment, or labor to determine a project’s economic feasibility.
10. Use design software to plan and design transportation systems, hydraulic systems, and structures in line with industry and government standards.
11. Perform or oversee surveying operations to establish building locations, site layouts, reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development.
3. Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
4. Proficient in the use of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other related software.
5. Extensive knowledge of construction materials, engineering practices, and mathematics.
6. Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
8. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential issues before they arise.
9. Familiarity with local, state, and federal land use laws and regulations.
10. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with a diverse range of professionals.
11. Physical stamina and ability to work on construction sites under varying weather conditions.
12. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed for site visits and client meetings.
